Tiny helmets for tiny people
We took our first baby on a bike ride at 10months old when we were near one of the most epic bike trails in America -Paul Bunyan State Trail in Minnesota. It was something we were not going to miss while visiting the NW Minnesota for a family wedding. Although we were very careful, it was still pertinent to find a helmet that was well-fitted and functional. We quickly learned that not all helmets are created equal, but a good child-sized helmet will be adjustable around the circumference of the head as well as the chin strap. We were happy to find a brand like Schwinn had helmets covering kids from 1year old to 10 years old. Hug heads run in the family and the infant helmet fit our chunky guy before his first birthday. We will be Schwinn helmet owners forever!
There are a few options for bringing your kids on a bike ride with you. And we truly were not sure what to invest our money in. At first we looked at the main frame Shotgun attachments like this one. Then, we changed gears quickly since we were sure we’d have another kid very soon (two under two!). So we decided to look at bike trailers that would also stand as a stroller on its own. SO, we rented from an amazing local bike shop who allowed us to try out the style they had at the shop. After trying a few different brands, we ended up with a higher end brand called Burley. We are able to easily get outside on the trails with confidence that our babies are safe and it will last us for several years!
